Rajasthan Royals stay alive in the tournament as they ended up ahead of the Chennai Super Kings in a nail-biting thriller at their home venue. Once again it was Jos Buttler’s heroics that handed the Royals two points crucial levelling them with Mumbai and Kolkata at five wins. A collective batting effort from CSK saw them finishing with 176/4 after electing to bat first. The total turned out to be less against the England keeper-batsman whose constructive knock saw them through in a game that came to a conclusion on the penultimate delivery.

4 – Jos Buttler became only the 3rd player to score four and more consecutive fifties in the IPL. Virender Sehwag scored five consecutive 50+ scores in the 2012 edition while Virat Kohli scored four in a row in 2016.
5 – Buttler became the 5th player from England to score 50+ in four consecutive innings in Twenty20 cricket. Joe Denly, Marcus Trescothick, Craig Kieswetter and Kevin Pietersen are the other four England players who have achieved this feat.
11 – Suresh Raina became the first player to score 300+ runs in each of the 11 editions of the IPL with the 313 runs he scored thus far in 2018. Rohit Sharma isn’t far behind with 267 runs in this season and needs 33 more runs to level Raina’s feat.
12 – Raina now has 12 fifty-plus scores in the IPL while batting first that ended in the losing cause which is the most by a player and at level with Virat Kohli who also has as many. While chasing, he has only 0ne fifty-plus score went in vain.
95* – Jos Buttler’s unbeaten innings of 95 is the highest individual score by a Rajasthan Royals opener in an IPL chase. He surpassed Naman Ojha’s 94* against CSK in the 2010 edition. Yusuf Pathan (100) and Shane Watson (98*) are the only two players to outscore Buttler in a run-chase for RR at any batting position.
200 – Jos Buttler’s six in the final over of the match is his 200th in T20 format. He became the 5th player from England to hit 200 sixes in the T20 cricket.
4012 – Suresh Raina became the first player to score 4000 runs for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL. He became the 2nd player after Virat Kohli (4814 for RCB) to score 4000 IPL runs for a single team.
