The last day of the league stages of IPL is here with the final playoffs spot still up for grabs. While Mumbai Indians (MI) will face Delhi Daredevils (DD) in the afternoon, Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) will stack up against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Pune. Ideally, R Ashwin and his Men would love to see the defending champions lose as then they will have a realistic chance of going through to the knockouts. However, it is also important that the unpredictable weather in Pune hold up as a washout will eliminate Punjab.

The Men in Yellow are sitting pretty at the second spot in the points table and they just have to make sure that they don’t lose by a huge margin against their opposition to stay in the top two. Punjab will have to be at their absolute best to triumph one of the best teams of the tournament and no wonder they will be eager to hit the straps. The likes of KL Rahul and Chris Gayle have to look to bat through to have any chance and more than individual brilliance, it is the team that has to put up a good show tonight for them.

Will it rain in Pune?

According to the Accu Weather, the weather in Pune is set to stay clear which is a big news for the visitors and their fans. The temperatures are hovering around 40 Degree Celsius which proves that the scorching heat will take its toll on the players during the practice. Thankfully for them, the game will be played in the evening during which the temperatures drop to 25 Degrees to make life easier even for the jam-packed crowd. There will be no humidity whatsoever but the dew will play its part in the game.

Overall verdict: Punjab will get one final shot at the redemption as the rain gods will stay away from this match. They will have to play well in order to go through to the playoffs as the Pune crowd will cheer for CSK.
