IPL 2018, Match 7: Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Mumbai Indians – 10 best memes/gifs

After getting beaten by the Chennai Super Kings in a thriller by one wicket on the inaugural day of IPL 11, the defending champions Mumbai Indians suffered exactly the same fate yesterday as well against the Sunrisers Hyderabad and came across their second defeat in a row to slip right down the bottom of the tournament standings.

Another impressive spell by the young leg-spinner Mayank Markande where he registered a 4-for to his name brought Mumbai back into a game which looked all but a lost cause at one stage when chasing a below par total of 148, Hyderabad was off to a flyer of a start courtesy Shikhar Dhawan and Wriddhiman Saha.

However as soon as Markande came into the attack, he changed the game. The 20-year old’s loop, guile, and variations outfoxed some of the reputed international names in the Hyderabad line-up and pushed the hosts well and truly onto the back foot.

Jasprit Bumrah and Mustafizur Rahman later backed that up with some world class death bowling and the game went down to the wire with Hyderabad needing 11 runs off the last 6 balls with only the last pair at the crease. However, Deepak Hooda released the pressure and shifted it back to Mumbai with a six at the very start of the 20th over.

Mumbai Indians had their opportunity later in the over though when Hooda looped a catch towards the short fine leg region, but Bumrah who was fielding there was not quick enough off his feet and couldn’t reach the ball in time to hold onto it. Billy Stanlake, the no. 11, eventually finished the game off with a lofted hoick over midwicket on the next ball.
