The cliffhanger at the Wankhede
The first game was a witness to some thrilling moments. Chennai Super Kings began handsomely with the wicket of Rohit Sharma. Nevertheless, Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav pulled the hosts back in contention. Krunal Pandya’s blitz propelled the score to a competitive one for the Indians. Mumbai had the lid over Chennai for a chunk of the second innings.
However, Dwayne Bravo, the Windies cricketer, stomped out and changed the complexion of the game. He went hell for leather from the outset and made a mockery of Mumbai’s pace attack. He smacked three sixes off Jasprit Bumrah and got them to the brink of victory. Kedar Jadhav finished the game with a couple of boundaries off Mustafizur Rahman.
