The Rajasthan Royals are all set to make a comeback to the IPL roster this year. They will be participating in the competition after serving their two year suspension period. The Royals had a decent time at the IPL 2018 auctions, and they have certainly got their permutations working on the paper. Rajasthan Royals is set to be led by Steve Smith in the season and the franchise has also roped in Shane Warne in the capacity of the chief mentor.

The franchise has been using good ways to promote and welcome their players for the season on the social media. After welcoming the younger players like Aryaman Birla, the team recently welcomed a domestic giant as well. Known as the ‘new Bhajji’, a reference to Harbhajan Singh, K Gowtham has been bought by the Rajasthan Royals this year.

Gowtham is a talented bowling all-rounder from Karnataka. It is worth noting that the 2018 edition of the IPL will not be the first one for him. Last year, he was bought for a whopping INR 2 crore by the Mumbai Indians. Sadly for him, he did not get to play any game in the season.

Now, he is most likely to find a place in the starting eleven for the Royals. Talking about his game play, K Gowtham has been a very successful player in the Karnataka Premier League and in the Indian domestic circuit. He is renowned for his off spin bowling and had practised with the legendary former Indian spinner E Prasanna.

Also, he is a proven hitter of the cricket ball and is capable of hitting some towering maximums. He is employed with the Vijaya Bank and his father is a former Karnataka Kabaddi player. Gowtham had made his First Class debut for Karnataka back in the 2012 season. He has his best figures of 5/28 registered in List A cricket.

Here is how the Rajasthan Royals welcomed K Gowtham:

“He may be the “New Bhajji” to some, but to us, he’s the one and only @gowthamyadav88! With astonishing bowling figures in both List-A and T20s, iske haathon mein hai dum! #Cricket #AbBajegaDanka #RoyalSquad #IPL2018 #HallaBol,” they wrote on Twitter.
