Rajasthan Royals lost their second consecutive game of the season, with three defeats and two victories so far, Rajasthan is at fifth position on the points table. Last night, they were steamrolled against Chennai Super Kings by 64 runs. RR will be affected by a poor net run rate, which will come into effect in the business end of the season.

In the game, Rajasthan never looked to chase the target of 205. Right from bringing in Heinrich Klaasen as an opener to sending Rahul Tripathi at the middle order, RR disappointed their fans at every moment of the game. It was Ben Stokes 45-run knock, which will be the only positive they will take for the next game.

Shane Warne disappointed

However, more than the teammates, the former Aussie spin wizard and the RR team mentor Shane Warne seemed disappointed. He took to Twitter to vent his frustration at the way RR lost the game. Warne is currently not in the sub-continent. Two days back, he left to Australia and might be back to India in a few days time. He termed RR’s defeat as ‘terrible display’.

Warne said sorry to the fans and urged the team to win the next two games and make it four wins out of the seven games at the halfway stage of the tournament. They will next play against Defending champions Mumbai Indians and the bowling dominant Sunrisers Hyderabad on 22nd and 29th April respectively.

His tweet read, “Apologies to all the @rajasthanroyals fans as that was a terrible display tonight in all 3 departments. The boys are trying & will come good so don’t lose hope, stay patient – we will get it right. Win the next 2 games and be 4/3 at the halfway stage – 2/5 is not ok !#IPL2018”
