Siddarth Kaul is currently the leading wicket-taker for the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in this season’s Indian Premier League (IPL) with 11 scalps from eight games. Moreover, he has an economy rate of less than seven, which is commendable to say the least. The franchise is currently placed in the second spot on the points table having won six out of their eight games.

He has bowled with venom and has been able to churn out wickets in the hour of need. Kaul played the 2008 Under-19 World Cup in Malaysia under the leadership of Virat Kohli. While the latter has cemented his position in the Indian team, the fast-bowler hasn’t quite been able to match Kohli in terms of making progress in his career.

The dreams

The Indian skipper is currently playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and has been an inspiration for Kaul. The Punjab-pacer was drafted in the national squad for the One-Day International series against Sri Lanka but didn’t get a game. However, he is confident of making his debut under Kohli.

“Virat Paaji is an inspiration. The way he has conducted himself in the last 10 years is just fantastic. I might be a bit late but I have always believed that it is better to be late than never. I didn’t get a chance to play in the series against Sri Lanka. I hope I get to make my debut under Virat soon,” Kaul was quoted saying by the media.

He is also relishing the moments of playing in the tournament and has been giving his best to help the Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise win and qualify for the playoffs. “I am enjoying bowling this season and trying to make the most of my abilities. The fact that all other bowlers are doing pretty well is also helping me bowl with confidence,” the pacer added.
