MS Dhoni finished it off in style at the Chinnaswamy Stadium with a magnificent six into the crowd against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Wednesday. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) jumped to the top of the points table once again after sealing yet another last-over victory, their 5th after six matches. Even the Stadium was buzzing with the chants of Dhoni as the whole country celebrated his vintage knock. However, the renowned Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh was also in awe of him and also went on to praise Ambati Rayudu for his another brilliant innings.
Rayudu has been in scintillating form this season and has hit the purple patch it seems ever since he has donned the yellow jersey. He also owned the orange cap with his blistering knock of 82 runs off 53 deliveries and was unfortunately run-out in the 18th over of the innings. But his partnership with the skipper was immensely crucial after CSK were down and out at 74/4 at the halfway stage.
Ranveer’s tweet
While Dhoni’s finishing skills somewhat overshadowed the heroics of Ambati Rayudu, Ranveer Singh didn’t miss mentioning him in his tweet after the game. Needless to say that he was in awe of the favourite son of India but he also felt that Mumbai Indians was missing their man of the crisis. The franchise didn’t retain him during the auction earlier this year and have now found themselves wanting. They are currently at 7th position in the points table and one more loss would mean that they are out of the tournament.
Ranveer correctly pointed out that Mumbai was missing Rayudu in their line-up as he tweeted, “Have to say @RCBTweets played really well today , but CSK was just too good in the end ! A Scintillating watch! Rayadu was amazing – we miss you at @mipaltan ! And @msdhoni .. what can one say about Dhoni…words fail me…what a champion! Bondafide Legend! #RCBvCSK.”
