The first trade window of the Indian Premier League (IPL) expires in mid-November and teams have already started making the moves. The process initiated with Royal Challengers Banglore trading Protea wicket-keeper Quinton de Kock to Mumbai Indians.

Earlier, the reports also suggested that Kings XI Punjab traded the all-rounder Marcus Stoinis to pick Mandeep Singh from the RCB. There were rumours of Sunrisers Hyderabad having emitted Shikhar Dhawan to Mumbai Indians. However, an official of SRH confirmed that they haven’t taken the decision about it yet.

Meanwhile, the three-time champions, Mumbai Indians would be hoping to avail the services of Shikhar to strengthen their batting at the top, with Rohit Sharma already holding the position currently. They might also like to rope in a few more players ahead of the IPL auction.

Mumbai managed to win just six matches while lost eight in the previous edition and ended fifth in the points table. Some star appearances failed to produce performances and owners might take a call by releasing a few of them.

Here we take a look at the players who the franchise might release:

1. Kieron Pollard

Having amassed over 8000 runs and 255 wickets in T20 cricket, the Carribean all-rounder, Kieron Pollard is still one of the dangerous shorter-format players in the world. He is known for hitting those big sixes and breaking partnerships at regular intervals with his medium pace bowling.

However, none of this has been witnessed in the recent past as the 31-year-old is struggling with his form. Pollard finished IPL 2018 with miserable numbers, scoring 133 runs and bowling only occasionally in the nine matches. He continued his unimpressive run in the Carrabian Premier League (CPL) as well. His exclusion from Mumbai Indians is on the cards as they might try to use the pursue in the IPL auction.
