Life gives you a chance to make a comeback. Well, this formula does not apply to the Indian Premier League (IPL). The ongoing season which is nearing its end, witnessed a lot of matches go down the wire. While some of the teams prevailed thanks to better captaincy, few sides had to pay the price for their skipper making wrong decisions. These crunch moments matter a lot especially in the shortest format of the game and the importance of the same realises when the team fails to make it to the playoffs.

1. Virat Kohli giving penultimate over to Pawan Negi (RCB vs MI)

The stage was well set for RCB to clinch their second win of IPL 2019. Mumbai Indians needed 31 runs from the final 3 overs, which was an uphill task on the bowling-friendly wicket. The ball was gripping, spinning, and making the lives difficult for batsmen. Virat Kohli gave the 18th over to Mohammed Siraj, who conceded just 9 runs, bringing the equation down to 22 of 2 over.

Pawan Negi was handed the responsibility of bowling the penultimate over. With Hardik Pandya on strike, it was a huge risk. As expected, Hardik smashed the remaining 22 runs in his over itself. Navdeep Saini had an over up his sleeve and should’ve been the man to bowl the penultimate over. Hardik Pandya loves to bat against spinners more and Negi bowling just played in his hands.
