A bad decision from Kane Williamson ruined his team’s chances of making it to the Qualifier 2. Khaleel Ahmed was having a fabulous night, and he had 2 overs left. But the skipper went for an inexperienced Basil Thampi in the 18th over of the match which was nicely poised. Although he had conceded only 19 runs from his first three overs, that was certainly not enough stat to give him such an important and high pressure over.

Rishabh Pant went wild and gathered 22 runs from his over, that ensured DC’s first win in playoffs in IPL history. It brought the equation down to 12 of the last 2 overs, which DC scored after the scare of yet another collapse. Kane could have given the ball to Khaleel, who had already scalped two crucial wickets that night.
