Chasing a total of 183, RR got off to a great start. Rahul Tripathi and the other top-order batsmen had put them in a position, from where they could have cruised to victory. However, some extraordinary effort from the KXIP bowlers put the team into a commanding position.

RR needed 50 of the last 3 overs. It was looking that the match had slipped out of the hands. But Stuart Binny had some other plans. He smashed an 11-ball-33 to instil some hope in the game. However, it had been quite late until then and even Binny’s cameo couldn’t save the team. KXIP won the game by a margin of 12 runs. Had Binny batted above Ashton Turner and Rahane, the Royals could have won this match.
