The stylish Karnataka-born batsman was bought by the Sunrisers for a whopping Rs 11.5 crores, making him the most expensive player after Ben Stokes. The price-tag pressure got the better of the 29-year-old and he failed miserably barring a few performances. He could only muster 284 runs in 15 appearances for the SRH and despite playing almost all matches, he couldn’t justify his talent.

Manish has the consistency to excel in big stages and the previous edition was a major let-down for him and his fans. He has been in exceptional touch for India A and his domestic side. Pandey also made a comeback to the national side on the same basis. But too much competition for the middle-order slots has put him out of favour again. While the chances of him getting picked for the World Cup are very much grim, if he performs in the IPL, it might still work in his favour.
