In the Ranji season of 2012-2013, the right-arm bowler finished with 37 wickets in eight matches and his brilliant exploits with the red cherry earned him a place in the Chennai Super Kings team who bought him for the base price.

The Haryana-born cricketer took as many as 20 wickets in the 15 matches he played at a very decent economy of 6.43 runs per over which is commendable. Lungi Ngidi is a <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/ipl-2019-5-cricketers-who-can-set-the-stage-on-fire-if-south-africa-hosts-the-tournament/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">South African</a> player who was first discovered in the African Cup, a provincial T20 tournament where he ended as a second highest wicket-taker. The pacer made his T20 debut for the Proteas in 2017 against Sri Lanka where he was adjudged Man of the Match for his brilliant performance in a rain-hit match. However, it was his brilliant performance in the debut Test series against India in 2018 in Centurion, where he won the Man of the Match award. It earned him an IPL contract with CSK for the base price of 50 lakhs ($78,650).
The tall baller, although picked for such a low price, played his heart out for <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/ipl-2019-5-players-csk-couldve-released-ahead-of-the-auction/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">CSK</a> by performing exceptionally well and hence contributing heavily in CSK&#8217;s record-equalling third IPL title in 2018. The 22-year-old bowler picked up 11 wickets in 7 matches at an excellent economy of 6 runs per over which is considered above par in T20 cricket. The youngster was definitely more than just value for money for his franchise owners.

Rahul Tripathi is a first-class cricketer who plays for Maharashtra in the Ranji Trophy and is well known for his hard-hitting skills. The right-hand batsman&#8217;s inclusion into the Pune based franchise came as a surprise to everyone as he had an average domestic cricket record. The rookie was bought for a base price of 10 lakhs in the 2017 IPL auction and since then his career took a positive turn. In his debut season with Rising Pune Supergiant, Tripathi was promoted to bat at the top of the order.
He pummeled the bowlers to make his presence felt, providing his team with the start they were expecting from him. The Ranchi-born cricketer amassed 391 runs from 14 matches at a strike rate of 146.44 which included a 52-ball 93 against <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/ipl-2019-kamlesh-nagarkoti-pleasantly-surprised-after-kkr-retained-him/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">KKR</a>. Tripathi delighted cricket fans all over the world with his ferocious and ingenious stroke-play.
