Just like it was in the last edition of the IPL, it was yet another disappointing season for English all-rounder Ben Stokes this year. Apart from the initial blitz in his maiden IPL outing for RPS, Ben Stokes has largely failed to impress. In IPL 2019, he has struggled both with the bat as well as the ball. His failure in the middle order is possibly one of the biggest reasons for RR’s downfall this year.

In 9 innings, Ben Stokes could only score 123 runs at an average of 20.50 and a strike rate of 124. All that he managed to hit was 12 boundaries in this season. Thus, the Royals weren’t able to finish well on most of the occasions and had to rely on the likes of Shreyas Gopal and Jofra Archer. Stokes bowled 101 deliveries in the tournament and conceded 189 runs. He only managed to pick up six wickets.
