Three-time champions of the coveted Indian Premier League (IPL) title, the Mumbai Indians have been able to secure the sixth spot in the IPL season of 2019. So far in three matches that they have played, the Mumbai-based franchise has emerged victorious only once. In the midst of the desire and urge to up their game, the Mumbai Indians ‘paltan’ has a new member joining their arsenal and its Jason Behrendorff.

Earlier, the Rajasthan Royals franchise announced the arrival of the young Aussie star Ashton Turner whose claim to fame was achieved while playing against India in Mohali earlier this year. The news of Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis joining the Royal Challengers Bangalore camp later today has also made the news. Neither the Royals nor Kohli’s RCB has been able to win a game yet.

The above two teams have taken the 7th and 8th positions in the points table, basically the two sides are placed at the bottom in this IPL season so far. Meanwhile, the Mumbai Indians- who are placed at the sixth position in the table- have only been able to defeat the RCB team and have themselves lost to the Kings XI Punjab and the Delhi Capitals, against whom they played their series opener.

The recently concluded series between Australia and Pakistan saw Pat Cummins being rested for the final two ODIs and hence the 28-year-old left-arm fast bowler from Perth was added to the playing XI. In the series that the touring Aussie side won 5-0, Jason Behrendorff claimed one and three wickets in the final two matches, respectively.

After the conclusion of the UAE tour, the Mumbai Indians recruit has finally arrived in India wherein he’ll join the IPL franchise and participate in the marquee T20 league. The Perth Scorchers player was seen in a video posted by the MIPaltan on Twitter wherein he announced his arrival and that he’s ready to participate in the IPL.

He said: “Paltan, I’m here in Mumbai. Just arrived. Can’t wait to see you down at the Wankhede Stadium.” To conclude, he chanted the Mumbai Indian’s theme- “Duniya Hila Denge!”
