Dhawan averages 41.41 at Kotla.

The Delhi Capitals (DC), in their second home game, will be hosting the unbeaten Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium on Saturday. While the KKR are coming off a couple of superb victories at home, the Capitals will be looking to not repeat the mistakes they made against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). They will also be hoping to get out Andre Russell early who has set the stage on fire so far this season.
If the Capitals are hoping to beat the Men in Purple and Gold, they will be wanting their opener and local boy Shikhar Dhawan to play big. He has looked scratchy so far in the two innings. Nevertheless, Gabbar has spent enough time in the middle to feel confident coming into this game. The team management will just hope that he middles the ball early in his innings and scores runs at a higher strike-rate than he did against the CSK.
Record against the opposition (KKR)
Dhawan has a special liking for the Knight Riders it seems. In 21 innings, he has amassed 543 runs at an average of close to 26. Also, in these many outings, the southpaw has smashed five half-centuries. The Delhi franchise wouldn’t mind if he adds up to the number in this game or even the three-figure mark will be a huge advantage to the home team.
Record at the venue (Feroz Shah Kotla)
The left-hander loves batting at the Feroz Shah Kotla. He averages a staggering 41.41 in the 20 innings in the shortest format. He has scored 704 runs with seven fifties to his name and has smacked three half-centuries in the last three matches. 51,92* and 80 are his scores and has won the Man of the Match on a couple of occasions.
Talking about the recent form, Shikhar Dhawan is regaining his best touch. He scored a century in the ODI series against Australia and a couple of decent scores to start the tournament bodes well for the Delhi Capitals and it will be interesting to see how much he scores on Saturday.
Last 5 innings across all formats – 51, 43, 12, 143, 1
Last 5 innings in Twenty20s – 51, 43, 14, 5, 30
He costs 10 credits in the Dream11 in the batsmen category and is worth having in the team. If you are putting the team in Grand League, then can make him the captain as well. Rightly, 79 % of teams have already picked Shikhar Dhawan.
