IPL 2019: Match 18, Chennai Super Kings vs Kings XI Punjab – Statistical Preview

The Chennai Super Kings will take on the in-form Kings XI Punjab at the Chepauk coming from a big defeat to the Mumbai Indians. Both the teams have won three out of four they played and the winner of this game would be climbing on to the top of the table. Injuries to the overseas pacer have weakened the CSK bowling with Dwayne Bravo being the latest to join the list. Despite three wins, the Kings XI needs bit more consistency in all departments as they were slightly lucky to win two of the three matches.

1 – Number of losses for the Chennai Super Kings across their last 15 IPL matches at the Chepauk. Mumbai Indians, in the 2015 season, are the only team to defeat CSK in these 15 IPL matches.
11 – Imran Tahir has bagged 11 wickets in only six IPL matches he played against the Kings XI Punjab. Tahir has an average of 17.81 with a best of 3/22 against KXIP. Dwayne Bravo has 22 wickets against Punjab in the 14 innings he bowled in the IPL but has been ruled out of next couple of weeks.
54.8 – MS Dhoni has a batting average of 54.8 in the IPL against Kings XI Punjab; the highest for any player with 300+ runs against them. Dhoni has scored 548 runs from 19 innings against Kings XI with the help of five fifties including his highest IPL score of 79* during this previous edition.
