In the previous edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) bowed out after getting beaten by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Eden Gardens. The teams are now scheduled to lock horns in the second match of the upcoming IPL at the same venue. Last year, the Knight Riders, captained by Dinesh Karthik, lost both their games against the Sunrisers.

Prior to their first match, KKR suffered a few body blows owing to injury concerns, albeit they have managed to find a couple of replacements. The SRH’s lineup will also be bolstered by David Warner, who didn’t play last time around. Moreover, the franchise also announced Kane Williamson as their skipper.
