The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) were cruising through with four wins from five matches and the lone defeat coming in a Super Over. However, they suffered three defeats in their previous three matches including two at home. They will be up against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in a hope of finding their form back. The RCB team is close to ensuring their exit with quite a few number of games to be played. They have lost seven out of eight matches and have to win the remaining six games to have a shot at the playoffs.

All the key stats and numbers ahead of an important clash between KKR and RCB:

3 – The Kolkata Knight Riders lost each of their previous three matches in this season; their longest streak without a win in the IPL since 2015. KKR went four games in a row without a win in 2014 which included a Super Over defeat.

KKR also lost their previous two matches at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. They have never been defeated more than twice in succession at their home venue.


5 – Kolkata Knight Riders won all the five matches against the Royal Challengers Bangalore since the start of 2017. The last IPL win for RCB over KKR came in the 2016 season at the Eden Gardens.

531 – Robin Uthappa is one of the nine players to score over 500 IPL runs against the RCB team. He scored 531 runs across 17 innings at an average of 37.92 with three half-centuries.


574Virat Kohli’s tally of 574 runs in the IPL against the Kolkata Knight Riders is the 6th highest for any player against them. Kohli scored those runs in 20 innings at an average of 33.76. He has four fifties against KKR including a best of 84 which came this season.
