The Mumbai Indians (MI) missed their skipper Rohit Sharma in the game against the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP). His captaincy especially was missed when the duo of KL Rahul and Chris Gayle were going bonkers at one stage. Kieron Pollard led from the front with the bat and won the game for his team. But in terms of captaincy, the Caribbean veteran certainly lacked something.

Even he hoped for the regular skipper to return to the helm for their next game. Ahead of their encounter against the Rajasthan Royals (RR), MI fans have got a brilliant news as Zaheer Khan has confirmed that Rohit Sharma will be available for selection. Mumbai Indians posted a video tweet on their official handle to reveal the news in which Rohit could be seen hitting the ball in the nets.

Whom he will replace?

With the captain Rohit Sharma coming back fit, Siddhesh Lad will have to make way for him it seems. He scored only 15 runs off 13 balls with a four and a six on debut appearance. Though it will be hard on the 26-year-old, no other batsman deserves to be left out at the moment. Rather, Ishan Kishan is being wasted down the order currently and he too could be a candidate.

Meanwhile, it will also be interesting to see if Kieron Pollard continues to bat at number four after the way he batted in the previous outing. His 83-run knock off 31 deliveries helped the Mumbai get out of the jail in a high-scoring encounter. They smashed 133 runs in the last 10 overs to pull off a heist and none other than Pollard staked his claim to bat up the order and with responsibility.

Rajasthan Royals, on the other hand, are in need of a victory and they will also look to put their best foot forward at their captain’s home ground.
