Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are one of the most popular franchises in Indian Premier League (IPL) history. The Shah Rukh Khan-Juhi Chawla owned Kolkata-based franchise is one of the most profitable ones in T20 tournament ever since its inception and has won the tournament twice in 2012 and 2014.
During the IPL 2018 auction, KKR made headlines as they let go of their successful captain Gautam Gambhir and banked on Dinesh Karthik to lead the team to glory in coming years. Karthik confirmed their faith in him, by taking the team to the playoffs in his first tenure as captain.
The KKR team is filled with a mix of youth and experience, which gives the franchise a different vibe, a different flair thanks to players like Andre Russell, Kuldeep Yadav and young guns Nitish Rana and Shubman Gill. Russell is having a blockbuster season for Kolkata, plundering 257 runs from just 121 balls with a stunning ball striking rate of 212.39 in this season of the IPL.
Dinesh Karthik reveals the most stylish KKR player
Recently while attending an event, Dinesh Karthik was asked an array of questions not related to the cricket in the IPL 2019. Karthik was asked about the most stylish player in the KKR dressing room and Karthik replied, “Among the foreigners, Russell. He kills it, so he`s got a good fashion sense as well.”
“Kuldeep (Yadav) dresses really hard, Shubman (Gill) is somebody who is very stylish, Nitish Rana comes to my mind… These are all very fashionable guys,” Karthik was quoted as saying when asked the Indian players with the best dressing sense in the Kolkata team.
“It`s difficult to say which team is the favourite since all 8 teams are on the same level. Hard to say which team is the big rival. All teams are equally balanced and whoever plays better on the given day will be the winner,” Karthik said when asked about which team is favoured to win the tournament.
