Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have done reasonably well in this edition’s Indian Premier League (IPL), having two out of their three matches. The franchise had their chance of winning three matches in a row, but a superlative over from Kagiso Rabada denied them a victory in the super over during the contest against Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Feroz Shah Kotla in New Delhi.

The Knight Riders’ batting has done decently, but there have been a few concerns surrounding the same and one of them is the form of Chris Lynn. The Queenslander hasn’t been able to get going in the T20 tournament as he has only been able to score 37 runs at an average of 12.33. Moreover, the right-hander has a strike-rate of 94.87, which shows the difficulties he has had of late.

Lynn’s poor form in IPL 2019

In the opening match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, he threw his wicket away to Shakib Al Hasan. Mohammed Shami accounted for his wicket in the game against the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP). The 28-year-old hit three fours against the Delhi Capitals (DC) but fell prey to Kagiso Rabada. In the meantime, Twitter wants the top-order batsman to be axed from the Knights setup.

Rather, the fans want KKR to open with the young and dynamic Shubman Gill. The Young Turk played a short, yet impressive knock of 18 runs off 10 balls against SRH and it included two sixes off Shakib in the match’s last over. The Fazilka-born combined with the hulk-like Andre Russell to make sure that the Knights get home after being faced to get 53 runs in their last three overs.

In the match against Punjab, Gill didn’t get a chance to bat. The third game against the Capitals saw him getting run-out after scoring only four runs. Ever since Gill has been roped in by KKR after his good performance in the U19 World Cup in New Zealand. The fans want for him to climb up the order and believes that the move can do wonders for the Men in Gold and Purple.
