Sherfane Rutherford was a part of Delhi Capitals in 2019. However, neither did the franchise give him many chances, nor did he perform in those limited opportunities. This year, Mumbai Indians traded him from DC. One can call him a like-to-like replacement for Kieron Pollard.

However, his current form has been very worrisome. The southpaw couldn’t perform well in the Carribean Premier League. Moreover, he will have to work pretty hard to find a place in the playing XI, since the team already has four impactful foreign players. Also, the team already has the services of the Pandya brothers, who will be the main all-rounders.

Rutherford was bought into the team at Rs 2 crores. Not to forget, MI is left with only Rs 13.5 crores to spend in the auctions. Therefore, the team might end up regretting the decision to buy him.
