Kings XI Punjab, the team at the bottom of the points table, will look to turn it around against Sunrisers Hyderabad, who haven’t been exceptional themselves. KXIP had great outings in their first three games, but were unfortunate to have won only one of them. However, they have comprehensively been beaten in the last two, and currently look down and out.

Apart from KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal, nobody seems to be in form with the bat. The bowling too was in shambles last game as CSK chased down a target of 179 with relative ease. They will have to device some really top-notch strategies and execute them well to get the better of SRH, who haven’t been as poor as KXIP, but will be looking to improve a lot.

While they have a dangerous top four, their middle-order is way too inexperienced. They also have to deal with the injury of Bhuvneshwar Kumar. They will need a disciplined effort from their bowlers and few blinders from their top-order batsmen to be able to pull through this game.

In the KXIP vs SRH match with a number of misfiring stars, here are 3 players you can afford to exclude: –

1. Glenn Maxwell (9 credits)

We have excluded Glenn Maxwell for almost all of KXIP’s games, and his performances have justified his exclusions. Maxwell has been hugely disappointing this season with just 41 runs in five games.

Shockingly, his strike-rate isn’t even touching 100. He has wasted several opportunities and has just not looked in the zone. It is just too risky to pick Maxwell. This game has a number of high credit players and hence we can keep Maxwell out of the picture.

2. Sheldon Cottrell (8.5 credits)

Sheldon Cottrell hasn’t done too badly. He has picked six wickets in five games. However, he is up against the likes of David Warner and Jonny Bairstow, for whom his pace may be way too friendly, and they have the ability to line him up.

Cottrell has displayed a tendency to lose his line and length when put under pressure, and hence in this game, we can take a call to leave out the left-arm fast bowler.

3. Nicholas Pooran (9 credits)

Nicholas Pooran’s exclusion is purely based on fantasy tactics. Pooran has scored 119 runs in five games and seems to be coming into form. However, this game already has way too many batsmen who are in fantastic form and cannot be left out.

His credit requirement of 9 isn’t too low either. Add to that, he has a miserable record against Rashid Khan in T20 cricket, having scored just 13 runs in 23 balls against him, falling prey once.

The shrewd David Warner is certainly going to use this match-up. Hence, while Pooran hasn’t done too badly, he hasn’t done that well either for us to have him in our team. Therefore, you can exclude Pooran.
