The next edition of the lucrative Indian Premier League (IPL) is months away but the player auction for the next edition of the tournament is just days away. All the franchises have already started to shape their squads ahead of the auction which is going to take place in Kolkata on the 19th of December 2019. Kolkata, the City of Joy will be hosting the auction for the first time in the history of the tournament.

Since T20 cricket evolved over the last decade, the batsmen have always enjoyed this shortest format of the game rather than bowlers who have usually been at the receiving end. But nowadays, the importance of quality all-rounders has been placed at the very top owing to the utility they bring to the fore.

In this year’s auction, the top international all-rounders will be at the top of each IPL franchises’ wishlist. There are quite a few of all-rounders who can single-handedly turn the tide of the match with their stupendous abilities.

Here are five all-rounders, who can create a bidding war in the IPL 2020 Auction:-

Ben Cutting (Australia)

The Australian all-rounder Ben Cutting, who is usually known as a domestic giant and an international flop in the cricketing world, had a horrendous season when he played for Mumbai Indians last time. Though his side won the title a record fourth time, his services were rarely needed by Mumbai based franchise. He played only 3 matches and took a solitary wicket. He even failed miserably with the bat.

After becoming famous for his quickfire batting at the death for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2016 final which eventually his side won, Cutting became the talk of the town and grabbed the attention of the Mumbai think tank. But the next three seasons for him were forgettable. He was not able to score runs with the bat nor was he able to take wickets with his medium-pace bowling.

But as the say, form is temporary and class is permanent. In this year’s Pakistan Super League, Cutting was at his best with the ball. In the recently concluded T10 league, he played cameos with the bat and bowled some decent overs for his side. With the ability to clear the world’s biggest boundaries with his muscle power, he may start a bidding war in the franchises going into the auction.
