IPL 2020: 5 stars who have played least number of games since last season

The action-packed tournament will also see several of the cricketers return to their comfort zone. It will be a kind of new start for some of them, as they have not been playing the game for a long time.

A month ago, when MS Dhoni announced his retirement from international cricket, fans became emotional. They bid adieu to one of the biggest superstars of the Indian cricket history with a heavy heart. It also meant that they will never get to see him again in the blue jersey. But there is some relief for them as they will be seeing him in the Yellow jersey soon.

By the looks of it, Dhoni has still unfinished business in the IPL. He was in great touch in the 2019 edition, where he looked his old self with his match-winning knocks. He gathered close to 500 runs, the third-best season for him in terms of runs. So the Chennai Super Kings will be hoping that his form continues in this season too.

Except it will not be easy for him this time around, as Captain Cool has been on a long vacation from the game. His last appearance came in India’s 2019 World Cup semi-final loss. Then he pulled out of a couple of tours, citing his commitments to the Indian Army. He was supposed to return to the now postponed T20 World Cup, but that plan also failed. The only game time he has got after the 2019 IPL is the 9 games he played in the last year’s World Cup.
