Mumbai Indians (MI) are emerging as a force to be reckoned with as this edition of the IPL is moving forward. Six of their batsmen have scored over 150 runs already this season while four of their bowlers have got 9 wickets or more. This testifies their fine run in the tournament and no doubt they have won six games out of eight this season.

MI also has got a very settled squad and everyone knows their roles well. In the first 8 games, they used just 13 players which shows how consistent they have been. Both Saurabh Tiwary and Nathan Coulter-Nile featured in the eleven either due to an injury or for a player to be rested. The management has been quite clear about its best eleven right from the commencement of the season which has helped them yield these consistent performances.

Here is the Predicted Playing XI for the Mumbai Indians (MI):

The duo of Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock has been doing a fine job for the Mumbai Indians. The MI skipper scored 251 runs in 8 games at an average of 31. In the last match, he tried to play the second fiddle initially but couldn’t accelerate later on. He fell after scoring almost a run-a-ball 35.

Quinton de Kock was slow to start in the tournament. But he seems to have got into his zone now and registered two fifties in the last two games. He was the ‘Man of the Match’ in the last match and is also the leading run-scorer for his team.

Middle Order (Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya)

Suryakumar Yadav has looked real classy whenever he batted in this season. He played a couple of great knocks as well. However, he has had a few issues with his consistency. He scored 243 runs thus far and will be eyeing a big score in this match.

Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya will be the two other batsmen in the MI middle-order. The left-hander didn’t bat in the last game but has tried to be aggressive generally. With a stalwart like Kieron Pollard and a destructive batsman like Hardik Pandya following him, he has a licence to go after the bowling. Hardik looked good in the last match when he raced his way to 21 off 11 balls.

All Rounders (Kieron Pollard, Krunal Pandya)

Kieron Pollard and Krunal Pandya will take up the all-rounder duties for the side. With the top-order doing so well in the previous match, both of them didn’t get a chance to bat. The West Indies limited-overs skipper scored 174 runs and is more than handy with the ball. The southpaw, meanwhile, didn’t get many batting opportunities in this tournament thus far. He accounted for 5 wickets in 8 games.

Bowlers (Nathan Coulter-Nile, Rahul Chahar, Trent Boult, Jasprit Bumrah)

Nathan Coulter-Nile has been brought into the side in the last game in place of James Pattinson. The latter was rested keeping the workload in mind. Nathan looked slightly rusty in his first game and went for 51 runs. He is likely to be given another chance to keep him in the groove in case his services will be required in the later stages of the tournament.

Jasprit Bumrah bowled an absolute snorter to dismiss Andre Russell and also created a chance to dismiss Pat Cummins. But that catch was dropped and he finished with just one wicket. He has been bowling brilliantly in the tournament. Trent Boult is also doing a fine job and has 12 wickets in the tournament. Rahul Chahar, meanwhile, turned the game on its head in the last match with two wickets in two balls.
