The 50th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will see an action-packed contest between Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals. It is going to be a crucial match for both teams in terms of bagging a playoffs berth in IPL 2020.
KXIP have bounced back in the season in the most magical way where they have five victories on a trot. Their squad looks balanced, and players have been showing just the right intent. In the last match, they roared to victory by eight wickets against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Sharjah.
Courageous man Mandeep Singh played with all his heart to get the team over the line. Keeping in mind Mayank Agarwal’s injury, it will be a thing to see whether or not he can mark his return in this tournament or not. Apart from this, there won’t be a significant change expected in their playing XI.
Here is the Predicted Playing XI for the Kings XI Punjab for KXIP vs RR game:
Openers (KL Rahul and Mandeep Singh)
KL could flaunt a brief inning in the last game, but that doesn’t change the fact that he has owned the Orange Cap for so long now. The bold skipper of KXIP is much likely to lead his team from the front in the rest of the games.
His wicket-keeping skills definitely come in handy when he is on the field for his team. Singh won’t be called any less than a hero by the way he played in his last game.
He played an unbeaten knock of 66 runs to push his team to a stylish victory. Despite suffering a huge personal loss, his courage and confidence in the game are becoming a big centre of appreciation for all the people.
Middle-Order (Chris Gayle, Nicholas Pooran, and Deepak Hooda)
Universe Boss Chris Gayle never leaves a stone unturned in supporting his team to the fullest. His prolific half-century in the last game was a thing to watch out for and he has also brought luck for the team.
KXIP have only seen victories since he has joined the playing XI squad of Punjab. Nicholas Pooran has gotten some impressive cameos and significant innings under his bag for KXIP in this season so far.
He is just another skilled batsman the team can trust blindly in the middle-order. So he is much likely to remain with the team in the coming time. Deepak Hooda might also be retained by the team to provide the strength in between.
All-rounder (Glenn Maxwell)
Maxwell’s form with the bat has been under question this year as he is yet to score many runs. The otherwise hero of KXIP’s story is suffering big time to display his form this season.
The Victorian didn’t get to show his class with the bat in the last match, but he did a reasonable job, picking up Nitish Rana’s wicket. He might be retained by the team owing to his experience.
Bowlers (Mohammed Shami, Chris Jordan, M Ashwin, Ravi Bishnoi, and Arshdeep Singh)
The backbone of Punjab’s bowling section, Mohammed Shami, is leaving no stone unturned to display his pace brilliance. He picked three wickets to mark his contribution in the last game against KKR.
The man, who has been able to get regular breakthroughs for the team, is sure to go on with the team in the rest of the matches. Jordan was equally impressive in the last game and would continue to show up with the team.
The young spinner Ravi Bishnoi has been looking at his sheer best in the debut season. He remained the most economical one from Punjab’s bowling unit in the last game and picked two wickets in the due course. Seeing his spirit and skills, he would continue to march up with Kings.
Arshdeep Singh and Murugan Ashwin can also be retained in the team seeing some of their performances. Singh remained stunning during the death overs in one of their matches. And Ashwin had a fairly decent economy in the last game.
