Sunrisers Hyderabad qualified to the playoffs yet again as they got the better of the Mumbai Indians with a 10-wicket win on Tuesday. Rohit Sharma failed to impress on his comeback but Mumbai made a steady start reaching 81/2 at the end of 11th over. Three wickets in the space of seven balls brought down the chances of MI over a big total and ended up with 149/8 thanks to Kieron Pollard’s blitz. David Warner (85* off 58) and Wriddhiman Saha (58* off 45) helped Sunrisers cruise in the chase with their unbeaten fifties.

Here are the statistical highlights from Sunrisers Hyderabad’s 10-wicket win during SRH vs MI:

A big win for the Sunrisers:

2 – Only the 2nd time Sunrisers Hyderabad has won a match by a margin of 10 wickets in the IPL. They got the better of Gujarat Lions while chasing a target of 136 during the 2016 edition.

This was the 3rd instance of Mumbai Indians losing a match by 10 wickets in the IPL. Deccan Chargers chasing 155 in the 2008 season and Rajasthan Royals during the chase of 163 in the 2011 edition won by 10 wickets against the Mumbai Indians.


Sunrisers continue their qualification streak:

5* – Sunrisers Hyderabad has qualified to the playoffs in all the five IPL seasons since the start of 2016. They are the only 3rd team to be part of knockouts/playoffs in five or more consecutive IPL editions.

Chennai Super Kings finished in top four during all the ten editions they appeared between 2008 and 2019 while Mumbai Indians got into knockouts/playoffs in six successive IPL seasons between 2010 and 2015.


MI breaks their own record:

1.107 – Mumbai Indians’ net run-rate of +1.107 in IPL 2020 is now the highest NRR ever achieved at the end of league phase by any team in the IPL. The record was held by Mumbai Indians itself with +1.084 during the 2010 edition.


Warner’s milestones:

6 – David Warner has aggregated over 500 runs in every IPL seasons he has featured since the start of 2014 where he made his debut for Sunrisers Hyderabad. No player other than Warner has struck over 500 runs in more than five different editions in the IPL.

507David Warner now has struck 507 fours in the IPL making him the 3rd player in the league history after Shikhar Dhawan (582) and Virat Kohli (503) to hit as many as 500 fours. The 3rd four that was hit by Warner during SRH vs MI was his 500th boundary four in the IPL.


Sandeep goes past Zaheer:

53 – Sandeep Sharma now has picked up 53 wickets during the first six overs of the opposition in the IPL which are the most by any player. Sandeep went past Zaheer Khan’s tally of 52 wickets by dismissing the MI openers during the SRH vs MI.


Pollard @ 3000 runs:

3014 – Kieron Pollard completed 3000 runs in the IPL with his 2nd of the four sixes he struck during SRH vs MI. Pollard is now only the 2nd player after Rohit Sharma (3992) to complete 3000 IPL runs for Mumbai Indians.


Surya continues to shine in blue:

1 – Suryakumar Yadav completed 400 runs in IPL 2020 during the Tuesday’s game which makes him the first player with 400+ runs in three consecutive IPL seasons for Mumbai Indians. Suryakumar amassed 512 runs in the 2018 edition and a total of 424 runs during the 2019 season.


A rare game for MI without Bumrah:

50 – The SRH vs MI game brought an end to Jasprit Bumrah of featuring in 50 consecutive matches played by Mumbai Indians in the IPL. The last instance of Mumbai Indians taking the field without Bumrah in the playing XI was back in 2017 during their last league match against Kolkata Knight Riders. Since the beginning of Bumrah’s debut in 2016, the speedster played 73 out of 75 IPL games played by Mumbai Indians
