The sixth match of the IPL 2020 is going to see the battle between Kings XI Punjab and Royal Challengers Bangalore on September 24. RCB have flagged off their IPL journey in a stylish manner by getting dominant over SRH, but the case is not the same for KXIP.

Punjab played their season opener against Delhi Capitals, where Mayank Agarwal’s heroics just got them next to victory before the matche slipped into the super over. In the dramatic one-over eliminator that followed, the Capitals won the match easily. Agarwal’s 89 off 60 balls stunned the opponents, but in the end, it felt like it wasn’t their day.

Moving to their next match, the franchise will face Virat Kohli and company in Dubai, who are much in form. With most of the players performing decently well, there isn’t a change expected in Punjab’s squad.

Here is the Predicted Playing XI for the Kings XI Punjab for KXIP vs RCB: –

The skipper is going to be very much at his position while opening up the batting order for his team. Though he couldn’t fetch much for his team in the last match, his past records speak volumes about his skills in the field. The wicket-keeping skipper is highly expected to be part of the playing XI.

Seeing the last performance, to say anything less than brilliant for Mayank Agarwal would be wrong. Giving the much-needed kick to his team (89 off 60), he pulled the team towards victory, but luck didn’t favour him at the end. The amazing batsman is most likely to form part of the playing XI of the Punjab squad.

Middle-order (Karun Nair, Nicholas Pooran, Sarfaraz Khan)

Karun Nair could only produce one run from his bat before he was knocked by Ravi Ashwin, in the last match against DC. Though he played only one match in IPL 2019, his earlier records are reasonable enough to trust him in the middle order. He is expected to land up in the playing XI for the match against RCB.

Nicholas Pooran was also the victim of Ashwin’s lethal spin attack in the last game and went out for a duck. However, seeing his form in the recently concluded CPL, he can be expected to provide some base to his team in the middle-order. He would most likely form part of the Punjab Playing XI.

Young batsman Sarfaraz Khan scored 12 runs in the last match against the Capitals, but he is expected to carry decent potential. He hasn’t been part of all the games in the IPL in the last few years but can put up a great show on the field owing to his performance in first-class cricket. The young man can be part of the playing XI of his team.

All-rounders (Glenn Maxwell and Krishnappa Gowtham)

Maxwell wasn’t much impressive with the bat in Punjab’s season opener but carries a great set of skills. The franchise had a marvellous 2014 season and reached the IPL finals due to his explosive hitting throughout. He can be handy with the ball too, and therefore, he would most likely be in the playing XI of Punjab for the next match.

Playing a cameo of 20 runs in the last match, Gowtham did give some contribution to the team, but a little more is expected from him in both batting and bowling area. He has only marked his IPL debut two years back and is yet to make an impression in the league. He might be part of the playing XI against RCB.

Bowlers (Chris Jordan, Mohammed Shami, Sheldon Cottrell, and Ravi Bishnoi)

Jordan may be called unlucky because that one short run signalled by the umpire pushed the entire game into super over. Later, it proved to be wrong but was of no use obviously. Jordan proved to be a costly affair in the first game where he conceded 56 runs in four overs. He might land up in playing XI of Punjab for the next match.

Star pacer Mohammed Shami stunned opponents in the last match by achieving an impressive figure of 3/15. Also having scalped 19 wickets in 14 games in IPL 2019, the hands of Shami can be trusted entirely by the Punjab team. He is definitely expected to be part of Punjab’s playing XI for the upcoming match.

The Caribbean star, who made his debut in the last match with the Punjab team, got hold of two wickets in the form of Axar Patel and Ashwin. Being economical too in the last match against DC, he has marked his debut well enough. He would most probably be part of the playing XI against DC.

Ravi Bishnoi, the young spinner of the Punjab squad, marked his debut in the last match against Delhi and also got hold of one significant wicket in the form of Rishabh Pant. Seeing the spin-friendly pitches of UAE, the youngster would most likely get a chance in his playing eleven against Delhi.
