Royal Challengers Bangalore are gearing up for their second match of the tournament. They will be playing against Kings XI Punjab at Dubai, where they played their last game as well. RCB is coming into the match with the confidence of winning the first game after coming from behind against Sunrisers Hyderabad. KXIP, on the other hand, lost their first game against Delhi Capitals in the Super Over.

RCB must be extremely delighted after being successful in their first excursion as they lost their first six games in the last season. Skipper Virat Kohli will be expecting a similar performance from his team that looked fairly balanced. At one point of time, SRH were cruising towards an easy victory but RCB’s bowling unit pulled the things back for them. Notably, RCB has always been a batting heavy side and their bowling has always been a matter of concern for them.

Here is the Predicted XI of Royal Challengers Bangalore for their match against KXIP:

Openers (Aaron Finch and Devdutt Padikkal)

Devdutt Padikkal stole the show with his phenomenal batting in his debut match. The southpaw was batting with immense maturity and his confidence in his ability was there to be seen. He smashed SRH bowlers all around the ground and outscored Aaron Finch throughout his innings. The team management would look for a similar result from the young batsman against KXIP as well.

Aaron Finch looked quite different from his personality at the beginning of the innings. He was playing a supportive role for with the attacking left-hander. However, he played some glorious shots later and proved that he is in form as well. RCB would expect a solid partnership from their opening pair like the first game.

Middle Order (Virat Kohli (C), AB de Villiers and Josh Philippe)

Virat Kohli, the highest run-scorer of IPL history didn’t have a perfect outing in the first match. He scored 14 runs and couldn’t go big when it was needed. The skipper was out of form when India toured New Zealand earlier this year as well, he would be looking to change his fortune and find his form back in the second game.

AB de Villiers looked as dangerous as ever in the first match. He scored a quickfire fifty to take his team to the respectable total. Josh Philippe made his IPL debut in the first match but he got a chance to bat for only two balls and remained not out. The young stumper from Australia is expected to get another chance as he has a great ability to clear the ground and can don the role of a finisher.

All-rounders (Shivam Dube and Washington Sundar)

Shivam Dube is a batting allrounder but in the first game, he played a bigger role as a bowler for the Bangalore franchise. The medium pace bowler bowled exceptionally at the death and helped RCB to turn the game in its favour.

Washington Sundar bowled only one over in the first match but he is expected to bowl more the coming games, he is the only off-spinner in the side snd can be used against left-handers. These two will provide the extra bowling options to the skipper along with their handy batting ability down the order.

Bowlers (Umesh Yadav, Dale Steyn, Yuzvendra Chahal and Navdeep Saini)

Yuzvendra Chahal and Navdeep Saini were the protagonists for RCB in their first match. When SRH had the game in their control, these two bowled dramatically in the death to pick up important wickets and snatch the game away from them. RCB will be relying heavily on these two Indian bowlers to win the next game.

Dale Steyn, the most experienced bowler of RCB line up bowled decently but looked far away from his reputation. Kohli will be expecting the leader of his bowling group to step up and perform better in the upcoming match. On the other hand, Umesh Yadav was their most expensive bowler in the last match. His role is to provide wickets early wickets in the Powerplay and all eyes will be on the Indian speedster in the next game.

RCB is expected to play the same team in the upcoming match. The team looked balanced in all the aspects and the team management would not like to change the winning combination until a forced change has to be made.
