On Thursday, October 22, the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) beat the Rajasthan Royals (RR) by eight wickets. It was a crucial game for both the teams, who were languishing at the bottom half of the points table and were in dire need of a victory. The match had a number of twists and turns, but in the end, Steve Smith and Co found David Warner’s men too hot to handle in Dubai.

After winning the toss and electing to field first, the Sunrisers didn’t allow the Royals to get away. RR could only manage 154 for the loss of six wickets in their 20 overs. Sanju Samson top-scored for them with 36 runs off 26 balls with three fours and a six. Barring Jos Buttler, the other batters chipped in with cameos. Jofra Archer injected momentum into the innings with a seven-ball 16.

In the run-chase, Archer sent Warner and Jonny Bairstow back in quick succession. However, Manish Pandey and Vijay Shankar didn’t allow any pressure to build. The duo put on an unbeaten stand of 140 runs to take the Sunrisers over the finishing line with 11 balls to spare.

Pandey got to his half-century off 28 balls and went on to stay unbeaten on 83 runs off 47 balls with four fours and eight sixes. Shankar hit the winning shot and got to his fifty off 51 balls. His knock had six fours.

In the meantime, the Royals and Sunrisers were involved in a hilarious banter after the game at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Back On Sunday, October 11, RR beat SRH by five wickets after cameos from Rahul Tewatia and Riyan Parag in the death overs.

Back then, the Royals had taken to Twitter and wrote, “Hey @Zomato, we’d like to place an order for one LAAAAARGE Hyderabadi Biryani. Location: One & Only Royal Mirage #WorldBiryaniDay.”

Here’s the Royals’ tweet:

SRH, now, after winning, didn’t leave any stone unturned in trolling the Royals back. The Sunrisers replied to them and wrote, “Cancel the biryani order our friends can’t handle the level of spice P.S. : Daal baati should just do fine. #RRvSRH #KeepRising #OrangeArmy#Dream11IPL.”

Here’s the SRH’s reply:
