IPL 2021: 3 RR players who might be benched for the most of the season

The Royals are yet to get their hands on the IPL trophy after their triumph back in 2008.

Mayank Markande was successful in restricting the CSK batsman during the inaugural game of the 2018 IPL. He was so effective during his spell that even MS Dhoni looked clueless against him. But, unfortunately, for Mayank, he was unable to keep his place in the squad. Although he is a regular member in the domestic tournaments, he has failed in the IPL.

After an excellent debut against CSK, he took four wickets against SRH. During that season, Mayank was in sensational form. Later during his maiden Ranji season, he emerged as Punjab’s leading wicket-taker. Things were going as per his dreams until injuries hampered his career.

Adding on, the rise of Rahul Chahar made life difficult for Mayank. He was unable to retain his spot in the MI squad and soon he was released. Now, he is a part of RR. But the Royals’ management does not seem to have a deep interest in him. And they have opted for Rahul Tewatia, who provides more options with the bat and with the ball. Hence, Mayank might not get more chances this year too.
