Chennai Super Kings (CSK) backed up their win over the Punjab Kings (PBKS) with another victory over the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the 2021 Indian Premier League (IPL). On Monday, April 19, MS Dhoni and Co won by 45 runs and now have the best net run rate of 1.194 among the eight participating teams in the league.

The Yellow Army are currently placed second in the points table. The Royals, after electing to field first, restricted the Super Kings to 188 for nine in 20 overs. A number of their batters got the 20s and 30s to propel them to the competitive total.

At the halfway mark of the run-chase, the Royals were on the driver’s seat, but after Jos Buttler’s 35-ball 49, they capitulated. In the end, Sanju Samson and Co could only muster 143 for nine in their 20 overs.

Here are the CSK Player Ratings for the CSK vs RR match:

Ruturaj Gaikwad2/10

Ruturaj Gaikwad started his knock with a four, but he couldn’t carry on. After he scored 10 runs, Mustafizur Rahman accounted for his wicket. It turned out to be the batter’s third failure on the trot.

Faf du Plessis- 7.5/10

Faf du Plessis played his strokes without much fuss in the powerplay. The right-hander notched 33 runs off 17 balls with the help of four fours and two sixes. Chris Morris got rid of him in the last over of the powerplay.

Moeen Ali- 9/10

Suresh Raina- 4/10

Suresh Raina couldn’t quite get going in his knock. He hit one four and one six, but could manage only 18 runs off 15 balls. The southpaw fell prey to young left-arm fast bowler Chetan Sakariya.

Ambati Rayudu- 6.5/10

Ravindra Jadeja couldn’t deliver with the bat in hand, as he got out to Chris Morris. However, with the ball, he picked up the crucial wickets of Jos Buttler and Shivam Dube. In four overs, he conceded only 28 runs. He also took three catches in the outfield.

MS Dhoni- 7/10
