The venue shifted from Chennai to Mumbai, but the low scoring trend and a one-sided chase on the tired pitches continued. Rajasthan Royals who lost by 10 wickets against RCB, bounced back strongly to win by 6 wickets against a struggling KKR at Wankhede.

Unlike the previous match with out-of-the-world performance from KKR’s middle order, they didn’t seem to show a fight this time. In the first innings, many of the top-order batsmen got starts but no one made a big contribution, with Rahul Tripathi top scoring at just 36.

Chris Morris was the star with the ball, as he equalled his career best figures of 4/23. The target of 134 they set was chased by Rajasthan Royals comfortably, despite losing both the openers Buttler and Jaiswal in the powerplay.

Lets have a look at the important numbers from this match:

2018 – Before Chris Morris today, the last time a player took a four-wicket haul (or more) for Rajasthan Royals in IPL, was by Shreyas Gopal against RCB in 2018. The last overseas player with a four-fer for Rajasthan Royals was again Chris Morris – with the the same figures of 4/23 against the same team Kolkata Knight Riders in 2015.

3 – Chris Morris becomes the third player with multiple four-wicket hauls (or above) for Rajasthan Royals in IPL, joining James Faulkner and Sohail Tanvir in the list. Morris became the first player to do it in different seasons.

4 – Eoin Morgan produced the fourth instance of a captain getting out for a duck without facing any ball in IPL. Others are Shane Warne who did it twice, while Gautam Gambhir did it once.

4 – This is the fourth time Chris Morris dismissed Andre Russell in IPL, the most by any bowler. Jasprit Bumrah comes next in the list, having dismissed Russell thrice.

18 – Total dot balls bowled by Morris, which is the joint highest by a Rajasthan Royals bowler in IPL. Sohail Tanvir against RCB and Shane Watson against CSK have also bowled 18 dot balls in an innings for RR, both the performances coming in 2008.

12 – Dinesh Karthik today became the 12th player to complete 1000 runs for Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL. Incredibly, 9 of those 12 players are Indians.

2 – This is only the second time Rajasthan Royals defeated Kolkata Knight Riders after their return from ban in 2018, while they lost four of them. The only other win for RR was a 3-wicket win at Kolkata in 2019.

4 – This is now the fourth consecutive loss for Kolkata Knight Riders. The only other season where they suffered this in last six years was in 2019.

2012 – The last year when Kolkata Knight Riders won an IPL match at Wankhede. Since then, they have lost 8 in a row including two matches this season.
