We are in the business end of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 and the fight for the playoffs has become intense. The 40th match of the competition will see Sunrisers Hyderabad locking horns with Rajasthan Royals at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai. As SRH have already been knocked out of the playoff race, they have nothing but pride to play for in their remaining fixtures.

On the other hand, RR, who are holding the penultimate position, still have a good chance to finish among the final four. However, a couple of defeats would make things difficult for them. Hence, they must put their best foot forward in their upcoming fixtures. Notably, RR have many areas to work upon as they suffered a humiliating 33-run defeat against Delhi Capitals in their last outing.

Chasing 155 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, the Men in Pink lost wickets at regular intervals and never really looked in the hunt. As a result, they could only manage 121/6 in their allotted 20 overs. On the other hand, nothing at all has went SRH’s way this season as they lost eight of their first nine games.

With the remaining tournament being a dead rubber for them, one can expect some interesting changes in the playing XI. Youngsters like Abhishek Sharma and Priyam Garg can come into the picture. Notably, RR walked away with a 55-run triumph when these two sides met in the first leg of the competition.

Meanwhile, let’s look at important stats and numbers ahead of the 40th game of the Indian Premier League 2021:
