The much-awaited clash of IPL 2021 is all here and will take place between the current superstars of the league. Delhi Capitals will be locking horns with Chennai Super Kings in match 50 on October 04. As both the teams are already set on the top two spots in the points table, it will be a thing to see who grabs the limelight in the mega event.

It is also quite likely that Super Kings and Capitals will finish at the top two only and will have two chances each of making it to the playoffs. Capitals, who played their last game against Mumbai, bagged the game after stumbling in the initial parts of their chase game. In this light, let’s take a look at predicted playing a lot of DC against the yellow army.

Delhi Capitals Predicted playing against CSK

Openers (Prithivi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan)

It is unlikely that DC will disturb their winning XI setup in their next game against Chennai Super Kings. Ace batter Shikhar Dhawan, who has been flaunting a superb form so far, will stand up in front to open Capitals’ side with Prithvi Shaw. However, Shaw is yet to appear at his usual best in the UAE leg of the game.

The middle-order of Delhi has quite a depth that surprisingly fluttered at once in the last game against Mumbai Indians. Smith will have his chance with Iyer in the middle, who has just been marching upright in the UAE after recovering from his shoulder injury.

It was only Iyer’s 33 in the last game that saved the day for Delhi, apart from bowlers’ brilliance. Rishabh Pant played a cameo of 26 runs in the last game but his form has been hot and cold in the UAE so far. Hetmyer is likely to be DC’s XI in their next game as he brought quick 15 runs on 8 ball against MI. More of such quickfire innings will be expected from him in the future.

All-rounders (Axar Patel and Ravi Ashwin)

If there was one man who was shining the best in the last game of Capitals, it was Axar Patel. He added quick nine runs in the end apart from taking three wickets, refusing to leak runs. Ashwin, primarily the bowling all-rounder, can be of great significance with the bat on his day. He played a fine cameo of 20 runs in the last game and can do that often apart from bowling well in the UAE.

Bowlers (Avesh Khan, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje)

There seems to be no flaw in DC’s bowling setup where each and every bowler is doing the job well. In fact, in their last game against MI, the bowlers were at the forefront of the team’s victory. Nortje and Rabada will be leading the pace attack of the team.

Avesh Khan has turned out to be a great revelation for Delhi’s team who is doing a fine job. Even in the last game, he picked three wickets while conceding at an impressive 3.75. Hence, he is sure to land in DC’s XI against Super Kings.
