The second phase of IPL 2021 is just around the corner and will get on floors from September 19. The opening clash will set action between the two most decorated franchises Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians. In the same light of events, MI has welcomed the arrival of their mentor and former legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar.

As Tendulkar reached the UAE, the official Twitter handle of MI welcomed him. Tendulkar was seen posing in the backdrop of the Mumbai player’s poster. Tendulkar used to be an integral part of the Mumbai franchise during his playing days and spend a good amount of time playing with the blue team. After his retirement, he started getting seen in Mumbai’s dugout assisting and nurturing young stars.

It has to be noted that Master Blaster Tendulkar has inspired many during his playing days and continues to inspire even after his retirement. He is well celebrated among fans for his masterclass batting and the behaviour and gentleness he upheld on the field. In the recent turn of events, even Paralympics gold medalist Pramod Bhagat stated that he draws inspiration from Tendulkar.

“I used to play cricket during childhood. During that time, we used to watch cricket on Doordarshan and I was always fascinated by Sachin Tendulkar’s calm demeanour, the way he conducted himself and it had a big influence on me.

“I started following him. His sportsmanship influenced me a lot. So, when I started playing, I followed the same thought process and it helped me to make some memorable comeback in many matches, including World Championships,” said Bhagat as quoted by India Today.

Talking about IPL 2021, MI will play the opening against CSK. Sachin’s son Arjun Tendulkar has also been roped by the MI franchise ahead of IPL 2021 at his base price of INR 20 lakh. It remains to be seen if young Tendulkar gets any chance in the UAE phase of IPL 2021, commencing September 19.
