The twenty-fourth match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) is currently in progress at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi. Winning the toss, the Mumbai Indians’ skipper Rohit Sharma opted to field, suggesting that the team would want to have a target as they are playing in different and new conditions.

On a Head-to-Head count in the history of IPL of these two sides, both Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals stand on an even footing, having won 11 encounters against each other in 23 IPL meetings, with one generating no result. However, since 2018, Rajasthan is ahead, winning 5 out of 6 matches they have played against Mumbai. In IPL 2018 and 2019, RR won all their 4 games, which they played against MI in the league stage.

Although, in the most recent edition held in the UAE, both teams got a victory each as Mumbai handed a heavy defeat by 57 runs in the first encounter, while Rajasthan came back and won the second face-off by eight wickets.

The former India cricketer and the CricTracker expert Reema Malhotra, however, reckons that the Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians will be able to take an edge over Sanju Samson and his men in this encounter and will record their third victory of the season.

This is a better wicket for Mumbai Indians: Reema Malhotra

Speaking at CricTracker’s live show ‘In The Air’, Malhotra said she would want to go with the Mumbai Indians as the wicket at Delhi is slightly better than their previous venue, Chennai, and it will prove suitable for their batting order. She backed the team to make a strong comeback and get back to the winning ways.

“Well, I do not believe much in predictions in this sports, as anything is possible until even the last moment. And even more when you see the kind of tournament we have had so far, such close matches and results coming at the last moment. But if I still have to make a choice between these two teams, I will pick Mumbai Indians because that side looks better and this is a better wicket, which will help them,” she said. “So I think they will surely make a comeback today.”
