The second leg of the Indian Premier League 2021 is all set to kick off on September 19 where the opening action will be set between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians. The players and officials have already reached the gulf nation and are in the final phase of preparation. Ahead of the mega-event, Mumbai’s ace batsman and skipper Rohit Sharma was seen training hard for the upcoming games.

It has to be noted while all the players reached the UAE way before, the Indian and English players who were up in the recent Test series just made their ways 2-3 days back. Mumbai arranged a charter flight for skipper Rohit Sharma, Surykumar Yadav, and ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah and their families to fly from Manchester to Abu Dhabi.

BCCI has directed a mandatory quarantine of six days to all the players coming from the UK as COVID-19 cases occurred in the India camp. Though Indian players are in quarantine, Sharma is leaving no stone unturned in making the best use of time by completing his fitness regime. It remains to be seen how Mumbai skipper will be able to make a mark with his team in the upcoming season.

Rohit Sharma coming into the IPL 2021 in great form

It has to be kept in mind that Mumbai batsman is coming into the IPL on the back of the great form that he displayed in the England series. He smashed a century in The Oval Test and led India to a historic win. Though Sharma has always been considered a white-ball specialist, he has made a name for himself now in Tests too.

The opening clash will see action between the two most decorated franchises of the Indian T20 league. MI will look forward to retaining their title for the second consecutive time and get hands on their sixth trophy whereas MS Dhoni’s men will be keen on getting 4th trophy for their legendary skipper. Though CSK had a poor run of form in the IPL 2020, they bounced back pretty well in the Indian leg of IPL 2021.
