The greatest strength of Mumbai Indians over the years has been the fact that they have maintained their core players. Rohit Sharma and Kieron Pollard have been with Mumbai Indians for as long as anyone can remember. The captain was signed in 2011 while his deputy had come to the Indians way back in 2011.

Hardik Pandya is another crucial player for them. From scouting him, picking him at the IPL auction, and then backing his capabilities, Mumbai has done everything in the making of the all-rounder. The same story is Jasprit Bumrah. Mumbai Indians’ have made them the players they are and they are now delivering their best in home championships again and again.

The last of this core has to be Suryakumar Yadav, who arrived at the franchise only in 2018 but has become a key player for them. Before 2018, Mumbai had an issue with having Rohit Sharma at the top and he was slotted in the middle-order. Suryakumar has played the role of a dependable batsman and that has made him the fifth name on the team sheet for every match.

MI: Rohit Sharma, Kieron Pollard, Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah and Suryakumar Yadav
