After a four-wicket loss against Delhi Capitals in the season opener, a spirited Mumbai Indians would be looking to get back to winning ways when they face the Rajasthan Royals at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on April 2. While their batters impressed against DC, the bowlers ran out of fire and brimstone in the middle and death overs.

Ahead of their next fixture, the MI batters were seen tirelessly batting in the nets as they would be eager to bring their A-game against the Royals which could well see a run-fest with solid batting line-ups on both sides. However,  it was West Indies power-hitter Kieron Pollard who stole the show with his blistering six while practicing.

Lately, Mumbai Indians shared a video of Pollard’s power-packed cricketing shot, which was not only impressive to watch but its effect was also felt. During the net session, Pollard hit a one-handed six which took the ball out of the park and it also ended up cracking the glass of the team bus.

The five-time champions would be expecting the same from Pollard during the clash against RR. The middle-order sensation had a day to forget during the last match against the Delhi Capitals where he could only score three runs before being caught by Tim Seifert off Kuldeep Yadav in the 16th over. He would be hoping to put this initial failure behind him in the next game.

Kieron Pollard was one of MI’s mandatory retentions for IPL 2022 along with the likes of skipper Rohit Sharma, pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, and middle-order star Suryakumar Yadav. Meanwhile, Yadav has joined the MI camp ahead of this clash and it remains to be seen whether he will be available for selection.

Yadav was undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru after suffering an hairline fracture during a match against the West Indies in February.
