There have been active debates and suggestions, on how to reward the batters for their performances in the T20I format. The much sought-out proposal is to award a total of eight runs for hitting a 100+ meters six. The former cricketer turned commentator, Aakash Chopra has been a huge advocator of this rule for the last couple of years.

In the recent IPL 2022 match between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK), he tweeted after a monstrous 108m six from Liam Livingstone to reward him eight runs for this shot. He feels it requires a lot of power to hit such a long six and the rule should be implemented in international cricket as well.

In the previous editions of the tournament as well, the likes of Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers have hit the colossal sixes on a consistent basis. The longest six in the IPL history of 125 m was hit by former South African all-rounder Albie Morkel in the inaugural edition of the cash-rich league.
