Baba Aparajith first emerged on the cricket scene when he was a part of the Indian U-19 team during their 2012 World Cup triumph. He made himself an instant name in the domestic circuit with some strong performances for his state team of Tamil Nadu. He also made a few appearances for India A. His technique and batting style were praised by many who watched him play.

This led to Chennai Super Kings getting him on board for a season of the Indian Premier League. However, the young all-rounder warmed benches for five straight seasons but didn’t get a single game to play. Meanwhile, he kept playing in domestic cricket and impressed the people of his state with his skills even in the Tamil Nadu Premier League.

As of 2021, Baba Aparajith is an established player of the Tamil Nadu team and has been an integral part of the team which has done extremely well in the past few years. He has played 78 first-class, 82 List A, and 50 T20 matches. Since getting released by CSK, he hasn’t found any other IPL team for himself.
