IPL 9: Points table, Purple Cap, Orange Cap and fixtures after the RCB v MI Match 41

IPL 9 is now getting towards its business end when all teams are closing in to get to the playoffs stage. Mumbai Indians registered a comfortable win against the Royal Challengers Bangalore to move to the 4th spot in the points table with 12 points. Sunrisers Hyderabad are on the top of the points table with 14 points. Gujarat Lions are also on 14 points but with a poorer net run rate. Kolkata Knight Riders follow in next with 12 points.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore lost the crucial match against the Mumbai Indians and continue to be on the 6th spot with 8 points. They need to win their remaining matches to stay in the hunt for the playoffs. Sunrisers Hyderabad will lock horns with the Delhi Daredevils at Hyderabad in a bid to consolidate their top position.

Virat Kohli tops the list of Orange with a country mile lead with 568 runs to his name. He could add just 7 runs in the game against the Mumbai Indians. He is followed by Sunrisers skipper David Warner who has 469 runs to his name thus far. He will have his opportunity to minimize that lead in the match against the Delhi Daredevils. He could not get a good score against Supergiants and trails by 99 runs from the top placed Kohli.

His team-mate AB de Villiers added 24 to his tally and is placed at the 5th position. Rohit Sharma has jumped to the 4th position with 413 runs in 11 matches.

Mumbai Indians pacer Mitch McClenaghan picked up an important wicket of Virat Kohli in the match against RCB to take back the Purple Cap. He has 15 wickets to his tally. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Andre Russell and Shane Watson follow in next with 14 wickets. Sunrisers Hyderabad pacers Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mustafizur Rahman will have a chance to take hold of the Purple cap when they play the Delhi Daredevils at home in Hyderabad.

Mustafizur Rahman has the best economy rate among all the bowlers.
