Indian veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh was brought by the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL auction. Harbhajan Singh is one of the leading wicket-takers for India in Tests. Chennai Super Kings brought Harbhajan for just Rs. 2 crores. He will now be back to play under Mahendra Singh Dhoni after a long time. Also, he was very instrumental when India lifted the Test Championship mace back in 2009.

Earlier, the Chennai Super Kings let the ace off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin go in the auction. Ashwin was brought by the Kings XI Punjab for Rs. 7.6 crores. He had to part ways with the Chennai team with after an 8-year association.

Harbhajan Singh tweets in Tamil

Bhajji has played for the Mumbai Indians ever since the inception of Indian Premier League. He played a very important role in their success. After ten long years, Harbhajan will change his IPL team for the first time. However, he hasn’t been in the greatest of forms of late. He lost his sheen with the ball and also hasn’t been among the wickets. The Punjab captain, however, was seen batting up in the order in the domestic team.

Harbhajan earlier also wished the Tamilians a very happy Pongal. Interestingly, he tweeted back then in Tamil. It raised some doubts then if the Chennai Super Kings would pick him.

And, that is exactly how it panned out to be. Bhajji was picked by CSK at his base price of 2 crores. Harbhajan yet again tweeted in Tamil. You will be so happy that you will dance now. Your happiness is no longer yours). He also added that he was happy to be playing for his new home. He also said ‘Whistle Podu’ at the end which is CSK’s tagline.
