The Indian Premier League(IPL) 2018 auctions are going on with the highest intensity and exploding levels and the fans are also having joyful time enjoying the event in full flow so far. Many star players both Indian or foreigners have gone under the hammer so far and have attracted many strong huge bids in the auctions. Some of the Indian players, who are considered as the hometown boys in this competition have been bought by the franchises for some massive prices.

Karnataka players gain big propositions

Among the Indian players gone under the hammer in the first session of the IPL auctions, openers KL Rahul (for 11 crores), Karun Nair (5.6 crores), middle order specialists Manish Pandey (11 crores), Kedar Jadhav (7.8 crores) and leading off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin (7.6 crores), have been the most expensive star buys for their respective franchises.  Three of those Indian players happen to  be from the Karnataka State team, which is a great moment for the players as well their hometown and the cricketers will be looking to showcase their talent for their new IPL teams.

Kings XI Punjab, who were the most active franchises at the auction setup so far, bought Rahul, Nair and Ashwin to add some Indian colours to their 2018 IPL journey. While, the returning franchise Chennai Super Kings picked up Kedar Jadhav from the lot, as he has got the ability to strike the ball nicely and provide an explosive finish in the shortest format, also he can bowl some crucial overs in the middle. Sunrisers Hyderabad included Manish Pandey in their teams in a quest of strengthening their middle order.

What does the second session hold for the fans?

Most of the IPL franchises would be looking to fill in their voids in the upcoming second session of the auctions doing the rounds live in Bengaluru. They would be looking to select the best possible players of the lots to come and build their combinations accordingly. And with many star players both Indian and overseas yet to go under the hammer, the drama and excitement levels would surely be boiling to the core.
