The eleventh edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will commence on April 7 as the T20 extravaganza in the country will begin its journey. Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings will lock horns in the opening game of the tournament at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Prior to the game, a star-studded glittering opening ceremony is scheduled to take place in which popular Bollywood actors will set the stage on fire. However, Tamannah Bhatia is also excited to perform as she feels that the tournament is the best ever sports event.

Along with Tamannah, the likes of Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez and Hrithik Roshan will also take part in the event. The actors who will miss out are Ranveer Singh who sustained the shoulder injury and Parineeti Chopra who pulled out owing to her packed schedule ahead of the tournament. The opening ceremony will begin at 5 PM on the match day and will sizzle the jam-packed crowd at the Wankhede.

I have never performed for a sports event

Tamannah Bhatia will mark her debut in terms of performing in the Stadium and has admitted that she is nervous about the same. At the same time, she is also excited as she is getting an opportunity to perform in the best sports event. “Before this, I have never performed for a sports event and of course, when you are on a stage there is a certain feeling of nervousness and excitement. As a performer, the feeling to perform in a stadium and to feel the energy of the audience will be completely different,” she said.

“I am excited because there is no better sports event than IPL to perform for. We are all crazy about cricket and it’s the opening night,” the Bollywood actress was quoted as saying by IANS.

She also picked CSK as her favourite team of the tournament as the franchise is marking their return this year after the gap of two years. “Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is coming back after two years, it has Dhoni and I am a huge fan, so I am looking forward to seeing them play,” Tamannah concluded.
