Mahendra Singh Dhoni is currently considered as one of the greatest cricketers India have ever produced. However, prior to playing cricket, he was fond of playing football and was an efficient goalkeeper after which he was introduced to playing cricket by his coach. The same has also been shown in the Sushant Singh Rajput-starrer MS Dhoni-The Untold Story which released in 2016.

Dhoni has mostly participated in charity football matches where he has exhibited his prowess with the ball. In October 2017, he played for the All Hearts team led by Virat Kohli against Abhishek Bachchan’s All Stars team. The All Hearts won the game by a massive margin of 7-3 and Dhoni was adjudged the Man of the Match for a couple of goals.

Recently, before their opening game, Dhoni was seen telecasting his magic with the ball during a practice session of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). During the session, Dhoni juggled the football and passed the football to Tommy Simsek, a CSK coaching staff, without dropping the ball, the video of which was posted on CSK’s official Twitter handle.

Here is the video

The franchise even went on to compare him with the legendary Christiano Ronaldo, the Spanish footballer and wrote “CR7 nahi, MS7 bolo” on Twitter. Ronaldo has recently grabbed the headlines with a couple of stupendous goals, playing for Real Madrid against Juventus in the UEFA Champions League and courtesy his footwork the Madrid won the game by a margin of 3-0.

Meanwhile, MS Dhoni is gearing up for the eleventh season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) where he will lead the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) who will play their first game against the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the opening game of the tournament. The franchise was banned for a couple of years and will be staging a comeback in the upcoming season.
